Paper Model: Hieronymus Bosch Monster

I love the internet. One minute you’re browsing though an interesting site, and then this next minute you find something you would never have dreamed was possible. It’s almost like someone granted a wish that I didn’t know I had. Atom from the website Glue² chronicle has created some paper models of the monsters from Hieronymus Bosch paintings. Regular readers here will know that I like making paper models. (Here is a Silent Hill Pyramid Head papercraft I made recently.) Of course the minute I found these Hieronymus Bosch monsters I had to make one. The model I made today is the tower fish from The Temptation of St. Anthony. Atom has three other Hieronymus Bosch paper models available so if you like making paper models, you should check out his site.

Detail from Hieronymus Bosch Temptation of Saint Anthony Left Panel

This is a detail from the left panel of the painting. It’s kind of above most of the action and in the distance. Here’s a wikipedia page with more information about the whole painting.

The Tower Fish paper model is pretty complicated and took me several hours to put together. It’s a Pepakura-generated model, and sometimes models that come out of that software can be harder to make than human-designed models.

Here is the Tower Fish with the Hammer Bird from Alice in Wonderland. The Hammer Bird is a model by paperinside. I’ll definitely be making more of these papercrafts in the future!
